The month of July was exceptionally difficult. It was a month of bitter/sweet and sad/celebration. My earthly mother, Faye Marie Linder Pietsch passed away at the age of 78 years old. She left behind a husband of 60 years, six sons, and 11 grandchildren. It was bitter for the family to experience the passing of Mom, but what a celebration for her and those awaiting in the great cloud of witness (Hebrews 12:1).

After reflecting upon my Mom’s life, I recognize that she gave me the greatest gift any human can give another person. My Mom gave me the gift of Jesus. She led me to start my own personal relationship with the Heavenly Father, Jesus, and Holy Spirit. She also shared the Good News of Jesus Christ with countless other people. Mom had been a teacher with Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) for 30 years.

Mom was a passionate student of the Bible. She believed the words of Jesus when He said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (See John 14:6.) This is what she taught me and many others. A personal relationship with Jesus is the only way to enter into heaven for eternity. Jesus is not one way of many ways, but the only way to the Heavenly Father.

As you live your life, look for opportunities to share the love of Jesus with others. As I mentioned, this is the greatest gift you can give someone. When you do, there will be a great celebration in heaven (Luke 15:7).
