In the month of May, I noticed more and more people speaking curses from their mouths. People seem to be more high strung and negative. As a result, the words that emanate from them are damaging and destructive.

Your words have creative power. If you speak negativity or curses over yourself or others, those evil words begin to manifest. In a message I shared pertaining to the power of our words, one of the Scriptures I quoted was Proverbs 18:21. In the New King James Version, the Bible says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”

On the positive side, you can also speak blessings out of your mouth. When you place blessings on your tongue, your life will reflect those words. It is a Biblical principle. What you speak is what you get. The Bible says in Job 22:28 (NKJV), “You will also declare a thing, and it will be established for you…”

I encourage you to take note of the words that come out of your mouth. Are you speaking death, or life? Are you speaking curses, or blessings? Your life will reflect what your words are saying. You do not want to curse your life, but you should desire a blessed life that reflects the Heavenly Father, Jesus, and Holy Spirit. The next time you catch yourself talking negatively, replace your language with blessings. Begin to monitor your speech and see how your life might change.

Your God Given Promises Must Resurrect

In the month of April, I shared a Bible teaching from Hebrews 11:11. This verse speaks about how Sarah bore a child named Isaac even though she was passed the biological ability to birth a baby. As I studied Genesis chapters 12-18, I was able to see how God performed the miraculous in Abraham and Sarah’s life.

God gave the couple the promise of a child on three different occasions. We see Abraham’s first encounter with the Lord regarding the promise in Genesis 12. The word is confirmed again in Genesis 15, and for the third time in Genesis 17. The promise was first given to Abraham when he was 75 years old and Sarah 65 years old. However, the problem was that Sarah was barren. When the miracle finally occurred, and the promised child was birthed, Abraham was 100 years old and Sarah 90. There was a 25 year gap between the revelation of the promise and the fulfillment of the promise.

Numerous people have spoken to me over the years about how God gave them a promise, but it hasn‘t come to pass. I believe God wants to resurrect the promises He has given you. Many people have lost hope and have grown weary while God’s promises have delayed. I want to encourage you to keep holding onto the “baby” the Lord has spoken to you about. Perhaps the Lord gave you a book to write or business idea and you feel you are past your prime to give birth. Take heart in the words found in Genesis 18:14a, “Is anything too hard for the Lord?” Your promise might seem dead, but God is able to resurrect it and bring it to pass.

In the below message, Nathan speaks about how God wants you to have a Father’s Blessing. You can listen to the message in its entirety by clicking, "The Hall of Faith: Isaac."

“Go,” the Missionary's Call

In the month of March, I shared a Bible teaching from Hebrews 11:8. This verse speaks about how Abraham obeyed God when he was called to go to a new land. Abraham left his home country not knowing where he was going. Abraham’s faith and obedience pleased the Lord greatly.

Recently, I have heard of numerous people desiring to go onto the mission field to serve the Lord in a greater capacity. This is wonderful to hear, and a response to Jesus’ words spoken in Mark 16:15. Jesus commanded, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.”

As a missionary for the past 14.5 years, Dawn and I have experienced first hand the joy of watching God move. We have seen many salvations, physical and emotional healings, and deliverances. God has moved us all over the United States and globally. The Lord has had us intercept people in route to commit suicide, murder, and horrific sins.

Being sent out by the Lord has not always been easy. We had to live in our car for about three months total. We did street ministry in horrible weather. We preached to the multitudes in hostile crowds. I was punched in the face and headbutted in the chest. We traveled across the nation with no money or connections. Despite the difficulties and major sacrifices, it has been the joy of life to follow the Lord.

A Distraction Free Zone

The Lord gave me revelation this month that was deeply convicting. It revolved around the sacrifices of Cain and Abel. The Bible says in Hebrews 11:4 (NKJV): “By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain…”

As I pondered this section of Scripture, I began to wonder why God accepted the sacrifice of Abel but rejected his older brother Cain. According to the Bible, God favored Abel because he 1) offered a sacrifice made with faith. 2) Abel’s offering was also a quality offering. The Bible tells us Abel brought the "firstborn of his flock," which was considered his best. Abel’s offerings demonstrated a greater commitment and obedience to the Lord.

As I studied out Abel’s offering, I began to ponder my own offerings to the Lord. How often do I text in church, get distracted during my devotional time, or zone out while praying? After self-examination, I concluded my offerings to the Lord are second best. This has encouraged me to remove the distractions during the times I am encountering the Heavenly Father, Jesus, and Holy Spirit.

As we remove the distractions in our lives that prevent us from focusing on the Lord, our walk with God will deepen. The next time you go to church, read your Bible, or pray, try doing it in a distraction free zone.

When Life Throws a Curve Ball

By Nathan D. Pietsch

Check out our Photo Gallery from January, 2025.

In January, Dawn and I started packing to move. The owners of the ministry house where we have lived has decided to sell their property. Dawn and I had just spent the last year remodeling the guest house due to water damage. We had to repair floors, walls, and cabinets. It was our first remodel project, so we had to learn as we went. Having to move is an unexpected curve ball.

When life throws a curve ball, how should we react? There are several examples in the Scriptures of life throwing a curve ball at the Biblical characters. In Daniel 3:8-18, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego were doing their jobs and serving the Lord. A curve ball came and they found themselves facing a fiery furnace. However, they trusted God even to the point of death. 1) They did not waiver in their faith.

In Acts 16:16-25, Paul and Silas brought freedom to a slave girl who was possessed with a spirit of divination. This resulted in them being beaten with rods, thrown into prison, and fastened in stocks. Even with this curve ball thrown at them, 2) they prayed and sang hymns to God.

In Mark 5:16-20, Jesus delivered a man possessed with a legion of demons. The people in the region should have celebrated this great miracle. Instead, they demanded Jesus to leave the area. Jesus heeded their request and 3) He carried on even when he was rejected and mistreated.
