I AM the Holy Spirit. During David's life, he faced a very difficult situation. The Amalekites took captive his wives, the wives of his companions, their sons, and their daughters. The situation was so distressing that the people spoke of stoning David to death. However, David strengthened himself in Us. (I Samuel 30:1-6.) David knew Who to go to during difficult times. We were able to help him. Consequently, David and his men recovered all that had been stolen and carried away. Nothing of theirs was lacking. (I Samuel 30:18-19.)
The Amalekites were the enemy of My people. If the men did not seek Us and actively fight for their families, they would not have recovered all. You also have an enemy who only desires to steal, kill, and destroy from you. (John 10:10.) The thief is actively pillaging the marriages of many of My people. He is successfully causing division and strife that is leading husband and wife to divorce. This is not acceptable because I hate divorce. Divorce covers one’s garment with violence (Malachi 2:16.)
If you are having difficulty in your marriage, you need to strengthen yourself in Us. After you are strengthened, listen for Our guidance. After you receive Our plan of action specifically for you, go and recover your family from the teeth of the enemy.
I Samuel 30:1-6
1 Now it happened, when David and his men came to Ziklag, on the third day, that the Amalekites had invaded the South and Ziklag, attacked Ziklag and burned it with fire, 2 and had taken captive the women and those who were there, from small to great; they did not kill anyone, but carried them away and went their way. 3 So David and his men came to the city, and there it was, burned with fire; and their wives, their sons, and their daughters had been taken captive. 4 Then David and the people who were with him lifted up their voices and wept, until they had no more power to weep. 5 And David’s two wives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the widow of Nabal the Carmelite, had been taken captive. 6 Now David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and his daughters. But David strengthened himself in the Lord his God.
I Samuel 30:18-19
18 So David recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away, and David rescued his two wives. 19 And nothing of theirs was lacking, either small or great, sons or daughters, spoil or anything which they had taken from them; David recovered all.
John 10:10
10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
Malachi 2:16
16 “For the Lord God of Israel says That He hates divorce, For it covers one’s garment with violence,” Says the Lord of hosts. “Therefore take heed to your spirit, That you do not deal treacherously.”
